NCRES Speakers Series: The Economics of the Green New Deal

We’ll be joined by Anders Fremstad of CSU’s Economics Department who will make a case for a Green New Deal, based on a co-authored report for the Roosevelt Institute. The proposal includes a substantial carbon dividend, to incentivize decolonization without exacerbating inequality. It also makes the case for complementary regulations and public investments to rapidly decarbonize the economy.

The presentation will be held at Odell Brewing Company’s taproom at 800 E. Lincoln Avenue in Fort Collins. Doors open at 7 pm with presentation commencing at 7:30 and running through 8:30 pm.

There is a $5.00 entry fee for non-members but the event is Free for CRES Members (includes one complimentary beverage). To join CRES: https://www.cres-energy.org/individual-membership-signup/

Anders Fremstad is an assistant professor in the Economics Department at Colorado State University who teaches courses in microeconomics, environmental economics, and political economy. His research focuses on the sharing economy, household and urban economies in carbon emissions, and the distributional impact of carbon pricing policies.
