Metro Denver Green Homes Tour

Annual tour of solar and green homes in the Denver-Golden area

Curious about how Colorado homeowners are saving money and resources while helping to slow the effects of global climate change? Visit a wide variety of homes to see firsthand what individuals can do to create a pleasing and high-performance home environment during the annual Metro Denver Green Homes Tour. The Tour has been in the Denver area for twenty-one years, with similar events in all fifty other states. This year’s self-guided tour coincides with the American Solar Energy Society (ASES)National Tour of Solar Homes, and features homes that demonstrate a wide range of strategies from remodeling options to full-on passive solar design to an entire community focused on clean, efficient energy. Spend an hour or a full day exploring these homes in Arvada, Denver, Golden and foothills, Littleton and Westminster. Visit both new homes and homes that have a history of performance.

“Nearly every day we read or hear about new and evolving technologies that can help us save money in our homes while being environmentally responsible,” says Nick Perugini, President of New Energy Colorado. “Options are plentiful and questions inevitably arise. What is right for me and my home? Can I do this now or do I have to plan for it? Is it cheap and easy or more involved? Do I have to change my lifestyle? Our Metro Denver Green Homes Tour lets you speak directly with proud homeowners, see and experience what they have done, and get all your questions answered without spin or pressure, so you gain the real world facts, from the source, to make decisions that are best for you today and tomorrow. See you on the Tour!”

Tour participants can register online or in person on the day of the tour at the Jefferson Unitarian Church at 14350 W 32nd Ave, Golden, CO, to receive the map, guidebook, and start the self-guided tour. A nominal fee of $10 per person offsets the cost of the tour and benefits Solar CitiSuns ( and New Energy Colorado (, dedicated to public education on the benefits of clean energy.
