Net Zero Energy homes and Passive House designs use industry-leading approaches to build, comfortable, bright, and energy independent homes. In addition to updated ancient tools like orientation, thick walls, and window placement and overhangs, they use cutting edge technology like ground source heat pumps, geothermal and photovoltaics, as well as different ways to construct and insulate the building envelope.

Peter Ewers, AIA, LEED AP BD+C, Golden, has designed dozens of sustainable homes, commercial buildings, two net-zero-energy homes, and several net-zero-energy-ready homes. He is a proponent of the solar PV powered all electric home concept.

Brian Fuentes, AIA, CPHC, Boulder, has experience in custom home design, boutique commercial projects and construction and focuses on energy efficiency, renewable energy and a conscious choice of local, natural building materials whenever possible.
