Celebrating Renewable Energy Pioneers. Denis Hayes, founder, Earth Days, SERI

Note: This is on a Wednesday mid month, not the usual 4th Thursday.

Hear from remarkable scientists and engineers on what motivated their research in solar power and other fossil fuel alternatives when oil was king and how they weathered hostility from earlier governments. Our headline speaker is Denis Hayes, who was SERI’s second director and famously co-founded Earth Days.

This event marks the 40th Anniversary of the National Renewable Energy Laboratory and its predecessor, the Solar Energy Research Institute (SERI)

Be sure to spread the word – we can seat 300!

Free (donations gratefully accepted).

Stay for a networking reception with food and drinks after the presentation.

Co-sponsored by the Colorado Renewable Energy Society, the JUC Green Task Force and New Energy Colorado/Golden Earth Days

RSVP not required but helps us plan the food – and your donation helps pay for it.

People not on Meetup may register at NREL40.eventbrite.com

Note: Our events are usually on 4th Thursdays. The speaker for Th, August 24 is not yet finalized. We may have one of the candidates for Governor speaking about their push towards 100% Renewables in Colorado.
