Tim Olsen has been designing and implementing wind technology for 20 years. He was the president of CRES in 2006 and the chair of Engineers without Borders in 2005 and teaches regularly at EcoTech BSME (CU Boulder) MSME (VPI = SU). • ABSTRACT
What is the history of wind energy, where are we heading and what are the challenges of turbine design. How is wind energy better than other energy resources, what are the limits of its feasible and cost-effectiveness and why is Europe so far ahead of us, with China now moving into the lead?
