Yes on 37! Pros & Cons
The Colorado Renewable Energy Society (CRES) supports the 2004 ballot initiative “Yes on 37!” The initiative will do two important things:

1. Require the state’s largest utilities to obtain 10% of their electricity from renewable energy resources by 2015.

2. Establish a standard method (net metering) for homeowners and ranchers with small photovoltaic (PV) systems to connect to the power grid.

The Colorado Renewable Energy Society has worked with allies of renewable energy for several years to establish a renewable energy requirement for Colorado. See CRES’ background materials.

Educational Seminars
In the months leading up to the November 2004 election, CRES is holding educational seminars about the value of renewable energy and energy efficiency. These seminars will feature several well-known leaders for the wind and solar industries in Colorado. There are three seminars altogether and are titled, “The Cost Electricity from Wind and Solar Energy.”
