Tour Home 2012The CRES 2012 Denver Area Sustainable Living Tour is scheduled for Saturday, September 29th in the south Denver metro area.
We enjoyed selecting and photographing 16 unique homes featuring shining examples of low cost energy efficiency measures, from sustainable gardening, to passive solar design and active solar installations, electric vehicles and more.

Jump down to see more of the tour homes now!

Interested in saving money and energy? Come see a home with an annual utility bill under $300! We even have a cluster of homes located along the light rail line which will take visitors to the North American Passive House Conference exhibit hall where they can view state of the art building components for super-efficient homes as part of the tour.

Be one of several hundred tour-goers and learn how to take the next steps toward a more sustainable lifestyle in your home. Don’t miss out on a great opportunity to chat with homeowners, designers, do-it-yourselfers and contractors about solar hot water, solar electric (photovoltaics), water conservation and energy efficiency, natural building materials, and alternative construction techniques. Pick up some great ideas for your current home, or dream big for a future home.

Register early for
extra value!

On Thursday, September 27th, at 7 p.m. at 3245 Eliot Street in Denver, CRES hosts an informative and fun session entitled “Going Green Without Breaking the Bank: Options in Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy.” Your tour ticket gets you in for free!

Whether you buy your ticket ahead of time or the day of the tour, you’ll want to check in at Arapahoe Community College (ACC), 5900 S. Santa Fe Drive in Littleton and pick up your guide map and last minute information. Explore a plethora of sponsor exhibits on solar hot water, solar photovoltaics, energy efficiency and more from Namaste, Solar City, REC Solar, and more. During the free educational and interactive seminars and workshops throughout the day, learn about how to get started in solar, weatherproofing your home, and find out about the energy coursework offered at ACC.

Homes are open to tour participants from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. on Saturday, September 29th. The self-paced tour gives participants the ability to start and stop where and when they choose.

Cost: $10 for non-members, $5 for CRES members and students with ID.
