One of the main economic benefits of increased
energy efficiency and renewable energy are the
jobs that come with them
In
January 2009, the
American Solar Energy Society (CRES's parent organization)
released a report showing how "green jobs" in Colorado
already outnumbered fossil fuel jobs by the end of 2007, and
shows how the proper policies & incentives can lead to exponential
growth in green jobs!

In April 2009, the Southwest Energy Efficiency
Project (SWEEP) also released a report showing how increasing
the efficiency of electricity, natural gas, and gasoline use
could lead to as many as 11,000 new jobs in Colorado by 2025.
