Blue Sun Opens Stations, Releases Emissions Data
August 25, 2005
Meanwhile, Blue Sun cannot stay out of the news.
Colorado Senator Ken Salazar and Denver Mayor John Hickenlooper
spoke at a press conference in downtown Denver yesterday to announce
the opening of new biodiesel stations in the state and the release
of new emissions data.
The National Renewable Energy Laboratory in Golden is running
emissions test on Denver vehicles as part of the city’s pilot
project this year to evaluate how well its fleet of diesel vehicles
run on biodiesel. For background, see the top story from the July 26
edition of CRES Clips at:

Blue Sun announced some of the preliminary emissions results at the
CRES Conference in Fort Collins in June, and the results look very
good. Typical biodiesel shows fewer tailpipe emissions than
conventional diesel. But biodiesel feedstocks vary considerably, and
this variation affects emissions. Diesel engines running on Blue
Sun, however, show significant reductions in emissions of
hydrocarbons and particulates. Blue Sun publishes some of these
preliminary results on the home page of its website at:

Haimerl in the August 11 edition of Westword titled “Fuel for
Love.”
