Xcel Energy Seeks More Wind Power
Xcel Energy announced in February it is seeking to build an
additional 150 megawatts (MW) of wind power. Xcel issued a
request for proposals (RFP) to for an independent power company to
build and operate the wind power plant that will supply electricity
to Xcel through a long-term power purchase agreement.
“We support the goal of securing an
environmentally sound energy future, and we are committed to
achieving this goal in a reliable, cost-effective and timely
manner,” said Tim Taylor, president and CEO of Public Service
Company of Colorado.
