The Northern Colorado Renewable Energy Society (NCRES) is regional chapter of the Colorado Renewable Energy Society (CRES) based in Fort Collins and serving the communities of northern Colorado. For more information, visit the NCRES website. The chapter sponsors educational events, distributes information and news and has a contact e-mail.

Founded in June 2002, NCRES advocates the economic, social, and environmental benefits of renewable energy and energy efficiency in northern Colorado. NCRES also encourages online discussion of energy issues on the NCRES Forum.


2006 Northern Colorado Solar Tour

Plan now to attend the 2006 Northern Colorado Solar Tour, Saturday, October 7, 2006. Visit homes and schools powered by the sun and wind. Learn about energy efficient and sustainable building practices.

  • 4 homes in Livermore area
  • ReSource, recycled building materials store
  • Kinard JHS guided tour at 10:00 am
  • Platte River Power Authority PV installation guided tour at 12:30 pm
  • Fort Collins Utilities’ Fuel Cell demo at PRPA, 12:30-1:30 pm
  • CSU Materials Engineering Lab (to see how thin-film PV materials are formed)

Cost: $5 per person, includes guidebook

Purchase guidebook beginning Friday, September 16, in Fort Collins at:

  • Cafe Ardour, 255 Linden St.

On October 7, you can purchase tour guidebooks at:

  • ReSource, 1501 N. College Ave., 8:30 am – noon

Events
NCRES holds educational programs and board meetings on the second Tuesday of every month in the Community Room of the City of Fort Collins Office Building, 215 S. Mason Street in Fort Collins. These educational programs begin at 7:30 pm., are open to the public, and are free of charge. NCRES Board meetings begin at 6 pm, and all are welcome to attend.
